Mechanics Part 1

So, okay, guys.

Yesterday I made the first post about bears on my blog about a game about bears. Turns out I had forgotten about a few things on my list of mechanics. I was just so excited about BEARS that the rest kind of slipped my mind.

The first feature is actually how I’m going to try REALLY HARD to not rip off other card games. I’m pretty sure I know the difference between using mechanical things that work and making a clone. For example, there will be multiple types of cards that you can play on your bears, and each card will have a resource prerequisite. I will get into the resources bit later.

For now, here are some basic thingers.

  • Each player starts with three bears. I know that this is an incredible amount of bear for one measly human to handle, but you must remember that they are only cards and they will not murder you for to ingest your blood and meat as would a real bear.
  • It’s worth mentioning that I plan on balancing the game for as many Bearmasters (OH GODS I HAVE JUST INVENTED A BEAUTIFUL WORD) as want to play at any given time.
  • There will be different species of bear, both real and SO FAKE. The bear possibilities are endless. Each species will have different stats and complement certain deck builds better.
  • Bears will power up with cards.
  • Magic bear powers

GUYS ISN’T THAT GREAT?!

…GUYS?!

Game Bears!

Today I started a blog about bears!

A blog about a game about bears!

Wait, how is that gonna be fun? Well you see, boys and girls, bears are the manliest things this boring planet has to offer. I was just, you know, thinking that a card game about bears would be hells of manly too. I’m still hammering out the beginning details, but I have some really cool ideas about mechanics. Here’s what I have so far organized in a tidy bulleted list.

  • BEARS!

Please leave a comment and let me know what you think of these features.

Love,
